WHO AM I?

I've been playing violin since the age of 3.  I began studying classical violin with Diana Tillson, who was a protege of the great Shinichi Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method. I earned my BA from Vassar College.  I've studied under teachers including Rachel Evans and Nick Attila.  In addition to classical music, I do live performances and

record in a wide range of musical genres, including rock, pop, blues, jazz, funk, and has shared the stage and studio with Grammy winning artists such as Tom Chapin, Peter Yarrow, David Amram, Noel Paul Stookey and many others.

Drawing from this stylistically diverse experience, I encourage students to play music that they enjoy, while teaching the fundamentals of proper mechanics, tone, sight reading, music theory, and promotes self-expression through improvisation and composition.

I have over a decade of experience teaching privately and in schools throughout New York and Connecticut.

I can’t imagine anything else in life that would bring me such reward or satisfaction than playing and teaching music. I’ve been teaching since 2001 and truly believe that anyone who puts in the time and effort to practice can succeed.

I don’t believe money should stand in the way of learning, which is why I’m proud to offer a range of classes at affordable prices. To find out more about my background, classes or approach, please get in touch.
